ProveAwake Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 August 2026
ProveAwake is an alarm. It is built for people who cannot rely on sound, and it is built to be trusted with a bedroom, a camera and a morning. This policy says plainly what it does with your information. Where the answer is “nothing”, it says that too, rather than dressing it up.
ProveAwake is published by Royal Nation LLC, 539 W Commerce St, Dallas, TX 75208-1953, United States.
The short version
Your alarms, Wake Plans, Wake Points and Wake Records never leave your phone. The camera checks are processed on your device and no photo or video is ever saved or sent anywhere. The only information that leaves your device is what is needed to know whether you have paid for ProveAwake Plus.
There is no account. Nothing you do in the app is tracked. There are no advertisements, and no data is sold or shared for marketing.
What stays on your device
All of the following is stored only in ProveAwake’s private storage on your phone, and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else:
- Your alarms, including times, repeat days and labels
- Your Wake Plans, including which signals and Awake Checks you chose
- Your Wake Points, including the codes you print
- Your Wake Records, including whether a wake sequence was completed, whether it escalated, and whether you used Override
- Your onboarding and permission preferences
Deleting the app deletes all of it. We have no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete on request and nothing for us to hand over if asked.
The camera
ProveAwake uses the camera for two optional Awake Checks: scanning a QR Wake Point, and Face Response, which asks you to make a movement and checks that you made it.
Both run entirely on your device.
- No photo or video is saved. Frames are examined as they arrive and discarded immediately.
- No image ever leaves your device. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no server to upload it to.
- Face Response does not recognise you. It measures whether a face is present, roughly how large it is in the frame, which way the head is turned, how open the eyes are, and how bright the scene is. Those measurements are numbers. They are used for a few seconds to decide whether you performed the movement you were asked for, and are then gone.
- It is not identity verification and must not be relied on as such. It confirms that someone performed a movement, not that a particular person did.
Both camera checks are optional. ProveAwake is fully usable without granting camera permission at all, and refusing it never leaves you unable to turn off an alarm.
What leaves your device
One thing, and only when it is needed: your ProveAwake Plus purchase status.
Purchases are handled by Apple or Google, and are managed for us by RevenueCat, Inc., which tells the app whether your subscription or one-time purchase is active. For this to work, RevenueCat receives:
- A randomly generated identifier for your installation of the app. It is not your name, your email or your Apple or Google account. We never set it to anything that identifies you, and we do not ask you to create an account.
- Your purchase and subscription status, including which product you bought, whether a free trial is running, and whether it has renewed, lapsed or been refunded.
- Basic technical information sent by the store, such as device model, platform version and country, which the stores use to validate a purchase.
We use this to decide whether to unlock ProveAwake Plus features. It also means RevenueCat’s dashboard shows us purchase and subscription totals — how many people subscribed, how many refunded — which is how we know whether the paid tier works. Those records are tied to the anonymous identifier above, not to you. We do not use any of it for advertising or profiling, and it is not sold.
Your payment details are never seen by ProveAwake or by RevenueCat. Apple and Google handle payment entirely, and we receive only the answer to “is this purchase valid”.
RevenueCat’s own privacy policy is at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
If you never buy ProveAwake Plus, this section still applies in a small way: the app asks the store whether you have an entitlement, which requires the same anonymous identifier. It does not require anything about you.
What we do not do
- We do not collect analytics about how you use the app. No screen views, no feature usage, no behavioural tracking. The only figures we see are the purchase totals described above.
- We do not use advertising, ad identifiers or trackers.
- We do not have accounts, logins, or a server holding your data.
- We do not access your contacts, location, microphone, health data, photos or calendar. The app does not request those permissions.
- We do not sell or rent information to anyone.
Permissions, and why each exists
| Permission | Why ProveAwake asks |
|---|---|
| Alarms and reminders | To schedule an alarm that fires at an exact time, including when the device is idle. Without it the alarm cannot be relied on. |
| Notifications | To show the alarm and its Live Activity. Without it the alarm may be silent. |
| Full-screen intent (Android) | To show the wake screen over the lock screen when the alarm fires. |
| Camera (optional) | Only for the QR Wake Point and Face Response checks, if you choose them. |
| Vibration, wake lock, boot completed (Android) | To vibrate, wake the screen, and restore your alarms after a restart. |
You can refuse any of them. ProveAwake tells you plainly what it will not be able to do rather than failing silently.
Children
ProveAwake is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. Since we collect no personal information at all, there is nothing held about a child to delete.
Your rights
Because your alarm data never reaches us, most data rights have no work for us to do: there is nothing to export, correct or erase on our side. Deleting the app removes everything.
For the purchase record held by RevenueCat and the stores, you can ask us to delete it using the contact address below, and we will pass the request on. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the CCPA. We do not sell personal information under the CCPA, and we have never done so.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. If a change ever means information starts leaving your device that did not before, we will say so clearly in the app rather than only here.
